28 Day Bubblegum Crisis Challenge, Day 26: What Did I Think of Bubblegum Crash?

Back on Day 22, I said that ARTMIC produced Bubblegum Crash without Youmex's approval, which resulted in a big lawsuit and, ultimately, ARTMIC's bankruptcy in 1997. Similarly to the original series, there were more episodes planned based on the originally planned ending, but because Youmex was all, "Oh, you did not just try to pull that shit," it was cut down to only three episodes. Sigh.

Now, I say sigh because seriously, it's not like ARTMIC would have made a ton of money off of Crash, anyway. It was pretty awful. You'd think that bringing back [spoiler alert] Largo as the Big Bad would give it major kudos, but nope. Nothing. I mean, Crash did inspire a lot of the changes in the reboot nearly a decade later - a virus causes boomers to go berserk - but that's about the only good thing that came out of it. Even the music was shittier. I really wouldn't even waste your time trying to find illegally downloaded copies, unless your idea of fun is watching a crappy sequel series. To each her own, I guess.
