Also, I'm going to be taking the next week off since A) nothing is really coming out (at least that I'm wanting to read) and B) I am going to be in the process of moving to South Carolina. Siiiigh, so much to do.

Why, oh, why is this series ending? We never had the first couple of issues in our back stock, so it wasn't until I picked up the trade that I realized how amazing this series is. I'm not really a big fan of the art style - it kind of looks childish and unfinished to me - but the story? The characterization? So fucking good. I'm hoping that Marvel is going to release this in a hard cover collection, because I would rather do that then purchase the trades separately. Please do this, Marvel??

I don't really know what I think of this series, actually. It didn't intrigue me as much as I thought it would, and to be honest, I'm a little bored of new stories surrounding Batman. Gotham Academy is far enough removed - at least now, although we keep seeing references to Bruce Wayne's alter ego - that I feel like I can enjoy it, but with Gotham by Midnight, I feel like they're just trying to do an X-Files version. We'll see, though.

While this new "season" of Buffy isn't as awful as Season 8 was, I still can't convince myself to do much other than read the issue and put it back on the stands. Perhaps I'm just setting myself up to be disappointed when I expect to see quality of Season Three levels, but oh, well. It's still fun.

As you'll see below, I may be thrilled that the Godhead arc in the Lanterns books is ending, but I cannot say how hippy skippy tickled pink I am that AXIS is going to be over after this issue. It lost me by issue five and hasn't really done anything to keep me reading, other than to make sure that I understand what the hell is going on once it's completely done.

Thank the sweet baby Jesus Christmas miracle that the Godhead story is winding up here. I was enjoying it up until last month. I will say that I love the Black Hand as a counterpoint to all the do-gooders in the rest of the Lantern corps (except Guy; I really like him, so Red Lanterns may stay on my pull list for a bit, even though that series is being axed due to that whole Convergence thing DC is doing), so having him be a part in the annual is a big plus. I don't think I'll continue to read many of the Lantern titles after this closes the story arc, but at least it was kind of a fun ride.
